About the Pictures Several of the pictures currently featured on this site show Anyce Shepherd and C.B. (Charlie) Shepherd, my grandparents. Anyce is the title character in my forthcoming chapbook, The Burial of Anyce Shepherd, to be published by Main Street Rag Publishing Company. Charlie Shepherd was her husband, murdered in 1938. Most of the other pictures are from the remaining pages of an old family album. The photograph in the Biography section was made by Marcia Petters at Duke Gardens. The photographs illustrating "Eating Apples," "Eno Winter 1994," and "The Green Pond" were taken by me. |
